Happy Vday to all. The kids and I made these hearts a few weeks ago out of playdough. Once they dried, the kids painted them with glitter glue. As for an update on the potty training, we started on Tuesday and finally today we actually went weewee in the potty. Between Tuesday and now we have had A LOT of accidents and yelling (from both of us) because my independent daughter was "afraid" to sit on the potty. Today was the first day I got her to actually sit on it without my having to yell and scream (and cry) at her and then she asked me to teach her how to make it come out....OMG, what do you say to that? I tried so many different ways to explain it to her but she just wasn't getting it. (This also made me wonder if she even feels when she has to go.) But on our last sitting session she actually did it and the smile that lit up her face when she realized she was doing it made me want to cry. She was SO proud and so was I. I know that we only won a battle today and the war is still on but I also know we are one step closer. And for anyone who is wondering if I am embarrassed about all of this....I am not. I was worried about it but I have never been embarrassed about it knowing that she is delayed in a few other areas too. And the idea of this blog is to share our every day experiences with you whether they are good or bad. I also know that this potty training thing is going to seem like a piece of cake once she starts school...my hair just got more grey. Our love to all.
Little did I know that her autism was causing the going on the potty problem.
