On Aug 28th I posted the following on Facebook: "Kassidy
is having a REALLY hard time with school this year. I wish people would
understand that she is NOT like other 11 year olds. She is a SPECIAL
NEEDS child which means she had needs that are different from the rest.
Why is that so hard to understand?"
Then today I posted this on Facebook: Well,
things can change so fast. I was worried about the school not "getting"
Kassidy and then I received the following email from her science
teacher:
"I wanted to tell you that yesterday in Science,
Kassidy approached me and said she needed to leave 5 minutes early to
use the bathroom. She also participated in class and was the voice for
her table group to share out when another student at her table needed help. "
WOW!
And then today she was playing a new game she got for WII and Shane was
watching her, sitting next to her with his head leaning on her shoulder
while she was explaining to him how to play and she was letting him do
it.
Double WOW!
Only those that have autism touching their lives will understand just how fricking amazing this is!!!!

Kawaii is 4 Months Old
What planet is Shane from?
Both
of my kids have this cold going around but Kassidy has a bad cough too. I
was trying to get her to take some cough syrup that was blue and she
didn't want to. Shane told her "Just drink it, then you can barf
rainbows ". Where does he come up with this stuff?

The other day Shane went with me to put gas in the truck we are borrowing and I taught him how to do it. On the way home he asked me when I was going to give them chores because he is ready to start....hello?

For some reason when I got home from work at 10:30 last night the front bathroom door was shut and locked from the inside. I spent 15 min last night and 15 min this morning trying to unlock it through a hole in the doorknob (I assume used for unlocking it from the outside) and couldn't get it to open. So I waited for Shane to come home from school and was gonna have him climb in through the bathroom window but it was locked shut too. Then Shane says "Get me a screw driver and I will try". I got him one just to humor him. In less then a minute he had the door unlocked and opened. OMG!!!!
