Buy Motorola
I just have to share with everyone that whenever you can buy something that offers a Motorola brand, BUY Motorola. Chris and I just got new Motorola Razr phones about 2 weeks ago. On Sunday, I dropped my phone into the pool when I was trying to take a picture of a ladybug. I was very upset because I figured the phone was a goner and I had only had it for one week. I called Chris right away and he instructed my to immediately remove the battery and to let it lay open so that it would dry out and hopefully it would work again. I was very doubtful and was trying to think of a way to get Sprint to replace it for me. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep that night.
The next morning I put the battery back in and turned the phone on and much to my surprise the phone turned on! Then I tried all the functions and everything worked fine, leaving me in a state of shock. There was still some water marks under the LCD but you really couldn't see it when the phone was on so I was pretty happy. But by the end of the day, the screen got really bad with water marks so I was starting to get a little upset with myself again. But Chris suggested that I take the battery out over night again to give the LCD more time to dry out. When I got up yesterday morning and put the battery back in and turned on the phone, not only was the phone still working beautifully, but now all the water marks were gone on the LCD also and it stayed that way all day! I LOVE MOTOROLA

We Made It!

Well, we survived the first week of Kindergarten. Here we are walking home after school on Friday. We were almost home and Shane wanted to walk so Kassidy decided to walk with him and held his hand. As you can see in the picture, she spotted the dirt pile so of course we had to play in it. The first week went better then I had expected since Kassidy has never been in a school environment. Her teachers said she did very well Tues - Fri, she seemed to adjust very quickly. Every day at home before school she has a meltdown saying she doesn't want to go, that she will never see me or brother or her house or her toys again. But once we start our walk to school then she gets really excited and does fine in class. (Our walk is approx half a mile one way so I walk 2 miles all together by the end of the day - guess I will be losing some weight and getting into shape!) Kassidy told me last night that she wants school to hurry up and be over so she can get a job...where that came from I do not know. She also said that her brain can't take going to school anymore, it is tired.
Shane is doing pretty good adapting to sissy being away for some time each day. He loves the walks (or should I say rides for him) and gets excited about playing with the other kids before sissy's school starts. When we get home he says he misses sissy and he asks me about every 15 minutes "Can we go pick up sissy now?" But I think he enjoys the mommy and Shane time too because then he has my full attention and he gets to watch whatever he wants on the big TV.
Well, I am sure the posts may slow down a bit since the bulk of my day is walking to and from school but I am also sure that there will be a lot of post about our new life in school. Our love to all!

Slideshow/Video: Kassidy starts School
Things went better then expected. Kassidy did great academically but had a hard time following directions and listening as was expected. She had a meltdown at the house before leaving for school but once we were on our way walking, she was excited. The walk home was exciting too because we had to beat a thunderstorm home....and we made it just in time. Well, just 18 more years to go (counting college).

A New Chapter is Beginning
Well, one week from today Kassidy starts kindergarten...and mommy is a wreck! Kassidy only goes to school for 2.5 hours each morning but to me it feels like she is going away to college...talk about separation anxiety! I know that she will probably surpass my expectation with school as she has with everything else but it just seems unnatural to me after 5 years of me (and daddy) being the only people responsible for her that for a few hours each day now someone else will be. And of course there will be a posting with pics and video of her first day so check back next Monday and see if mommy made it through the day.

An Amazing Miracle

To be totally honest, I didn't even know that these 3 Americans were hostages in Columbia or that there is such a group known as FARC. Sad that I know (thanks to most of the media) all about Britney Spears though. I was glued to CNN last night as if one of these guys were family to me or someone I knew. Anderson Cooper and CNN did an amazing job in their coverage of the release and return of these true heroes. I found myself unable to change the channel (even though I am a channel surfer) until I watched these 3 men get off the plane and be loaded onto helicopters and then from the helicopters onto a bus to be transported to the military hospital. Then I realized that CNN was the only channel showing live coverage of this miraculous event. Especially with the 4th of July holiday around the corner, EVERY channel (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) should have interrupted programming to show this coverage live....but that is just my opinion. - Tina Christianson
